Zermatt luxury catered and self-catered Chalet Ibron is one of our four unique, and for Zermatt very rare, residences (our Chalet Gemini, Chalet Castor, and Chalet Pollux being the others): a luxurious free standing three storey chalet with 4 double bedrooms.
Its location provides the best of both worlds: spectacular views and easy access. 200m from the Matterhorn Express base lift station and resort run there is a street level tunnel which leads you to a lift (elevator) built inside the mountain, from the top of which there is a gentle 2 minute walk to the property and an exterior stairway. The chalet comes with an electro wagon and stair-lift which our staff will use to move your luggage and shopping as required.
This luxurious free standing independent chalet with 4 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a sauna, is large enough for families or groups of 8. All the beds can be configured as doubles or twins.

Side by side, tucked against a beautiful hillside, the numerous balconies and large terraces give you bird’s eye views of the village and the surrounding mountains, encompassing all 3 of Zermatt’s ski areas. Although it does not have a Matterhorn view, the sun baths the chalet is as soon as it emerges. Chalet Ibron is immediately opposite Chalet Pollux which sleeps 8.
The tunnel and elevator bring you up high above the village providing a true sense of high mountain seclusion and tranquility with breathtaking views. Although it does not have a direct Matterhorn view, the chalet is bathed in sun as soon as it emerges.
Guests can leave theirs skis and boots in the tunnel’s ski-room. The entrance to the tunnel is 200 metres from the end of the ski runs beneath the Matterhorn Express lift station, just a 4 minute walk from the church square.
It has the most luxurious and spacious master bedroom, with an open bath-tub, separate shower, separate W/C, and en-suite sauna, perfect to relax after a long day in the mountains. The second double bedroom is smaller and has no en-suite bathroom – it uses the bathroom on the first floor. Both these bedrooms have beautiful sloping wooden ceilings, and the master bedroom has a wide balcony with a glorious panorama.
On the ground floor you have the sitting room and an open-plan kitchen with the dining table, both giving on to the large terrace accessed through French windows. There is also a boot-room, utility room with washing machine and dryer, and a guest W/C. Ibron also has a large sunny terrace with tables, deck chairs and beautiful views.
The first floor has two double bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms. The larger bedroom is L-shaped with a sitting / dressing area like a junior suite. The other bathroom has an extra door leading to the landing, providing access for the bedroom upstairs which has no en-suite. Both these bedrooms have large south-east facing balconies.
Mountain Exposure has tastefully decorated the chalet, delicately combining an alpine, cosy and contemporary finish, with liberal use of wood and stone.
It has all the latest technology with flat-screen TVs, more than a 150 channels, a rotating fireplace and geothermal heating to reduce the chalet’s carbon foot-print as much as possible.
Zermatt luxury catered ski chalet Ibron is a rare gem; a large freestanding chalet which has been conceived to meet your needs and wishes to the fullest possible extent.
Chalet Ibron is opposite Chalet Pollux (sleeps 8) and next to Chalet Castor, as well as our other 5 star freestanding chalet, Chalet Gemini, which sleeps a further 10 people. All these chalets may be rented together (Les Perles) enabling a group of up 16,18, 24, 26 or 34 guests to stay in the same location while benefiting from the space and privacy that only a sole-occupancy luxury chalet can provide.

We are already talking about returning to Chalet Ibron! - Excellent. We couldnt imagine a better host couple, Simon and Lisa were very professional. Every course of every meal was fatastic.
Chalet Ibron was excellent and the catering was the best. The Team made our stay feel like home!
Chalet Ibron and its furnishings were excellent. We would absolutely return to this accommodation. Our Mountain Exposure holiday was amazing.
Mountain Exposure Team was friendly, professional. Present but not imposing, so very well done.
10+ ! Loved our chalet, service was phenomenal. Even as a non-skier I was able to join my family on the mountain for fabulous lunches and great exercise. Your description of the property was very accurate. Proximity to town, ski lifts, ski storage area, gondola and trails was superior to anything in the US!
Loved the accommodation - suited both families - great size & layout. The staff have a great attitude, very helpful - always able to provide assistance if needed. Thanks Philip for all your help & info during our stay.
Lovely chalet but not appropriate for families with small babies / older people as there are a large number of steps leading to the chalet. Philip, Maria and the team in resort were excellent - very friendly and super helpful. Really good holiday.
The absolute best! Best of any accomodations, location is awesome! Your description of the property was very accurate. Proximity to town, ski lifts, ski storage area, gondola and trails was superiour to anything in the USA. 10+! Loved our chalet, the service was phenomenal.
