We believe that this is the most comprehensive and accurate snow report for Zermatt that there is. The data are sourced from the SLF (Swiss Avalanche Research Institute) measuring stations, and from its Cervinia counterpart. The Cervinia and Valtournenche ski areas have both opened down to the mid-stations, and the Riffelberg area on Gornergrat is also up and running. This gives the combined Zermatt / Cervinia ski area a total of 85km of open runs, more than anywhere else! Sunnegga will open on the weekend of December 4th and a big snowfall is forecast. The 21-22 Season Starts with a Bang!

Over the last three days it has snowed 45cm on the top slopes, and 20cm in the village. The skiing on the Zermatt side is open down to Trockener Steg with 1,000m of vertical, and the  link to Cervinia will open this coming Saturday. As always, Zermatt is the most blessed resort for early snow in the Alps.
