Swiss border restrictions have been lifted

The Swiss government has lifted almost all restrictions on travel from Schengen, EU and EEA countries into Switzerland. A good number of third countries are also included. There is a very useful official tool which enables you to check Swiss entry requirements according to your individual status:

In a nutshell: If you are an EU citizen or have the right of freedom of movement and are:

  • Travelling by car: You can enter Switzerland without any further pandemic-related measures and are therefore exempt from the test and quarantine requirement.
  • Travelling by plane: If you are double vaccinated or have had Covid, you do not need a test, you only need to fill out this Entry Form. If not, you will additionally need PCR or rapid antigen test.

 

If you are are not an EU citizen or do not have the right of free movement:

Your entry to the country is subject to the general entry requirements (e.g. travel document and visa).

  • If you are travelling by plane from third countries such a the UK or USA, and are double vaccinated or have recovered from Covid, you just need to fill out the Entry Form.
  • If not, you will additionally need PCR or rapid antigen test.
