Zanana is a very smart and stylish 1st floor, two bedroom apartment in the charming Winkelmatten district of Zermatt. It sleeps four in two double bedrooms, one has a double bed and a walk-in wardrobe, while the other has two beds that can be made up as twins or pushed together. There is one very elegant Italian design bathroom with bath, large seperate shower, two sinks and WC.
The living area is very generous for a two bedroom apartment; under the extra high sloping wooden ceiling, in the middle of the space, you will be warmed by the crackling logs in the free standing glass fireplace which you can walk right around. There are two distinct sofa areas – one by the fireplace, one by the large screen LCD TV – and a long wooden dining table easily seating eight. The lustrous red lacquer kitchen has a central island unit and professional equipment. To complete the picture, the south and west French windows lead through to two large balcony/terraces.
Although the Matterhorn is not visible, there are equally beautiful views of the the Zermatt village and the peaks towering above the Trift gorge. The secluded hamlet of Winkelmatten, where the chalet is located, is known as the Beverly Hills of Zermatt. There is a bus stop 3 minutes away, which takes you to the Matterhorn Express base lift station, and on to the centre of Zermatt, which if you prefer to walk, is 15 minutes away. By taking the Moos resort run, you can ski to within 5 minutes of the chalet at the end of the day (snow conditions permitting).
