Summer Activities

In summer, Zermatt offers a wealth of activities which not many guests are aware of. In addition to the extensive walking, hiking, and mountaineering possibilities there are a number of less common pursuits which we and our guests enjoy in Zermatt throughout the summer.

Our favourite summer Zermatt activities include:

• Mountain biking: whether you take a cable car up and ride down or do the full work-out, Zermatt's mountain biking possibilities are limitless
• Summer skiing / snowboarding: skiing is possible all year round on the glacier. In addition an extensive fun park with a large half pipe is also open throughout the summer months
• SPA and relaxation: if you are not staying on one of our SPA chalets then Zermatt has a number of hotels that offer high level SPA and massage services. We will be happy to recommend one depending on your needs
• Paragliding: take a tandem flight for spectacular views and sensations
• 4000 meter peaks: climb your first 4000 meterpeak, some can be climbed in as little as 3 hours
• Walking: the mountain scenery is breathtaking, green pastures, forests, ancient glaciers and rocky peaks can all be experienced in just a few hours walking
• Cannyoning: trek along a deep mountain gorge crossing waterfalls and climbing cliff faces with the assitance of a local mountain guide
• The fun park: There is now an extensive fun park consisting of long fly wires and a series of tree top obtacles. Routes of varying levels of difficulty may be selected, all with the safety of a harness and fixed line
• Rock climbing: try you hand on the numerous towering rock faces. Start on a climbing wall for practice if you like. (equipement available for rent from local sport shops)
• Tennis: courts are available in the village centre
• Golf: there are a number of golf courses inthe valley, Zermatt is a great base from which to explore them
• Mule trekking: ride your own mule along the mountain paths!
• Wine tasting: some great and little know wines are produced in Switzerland
• Gourmet dining: Zermatt hosts the worlds finest mountain restaurants in heavenly surroundings and the village itself is not short of top tables. Be sure to ask us for our recommendations.
• Beach volley ball: Zermatt has its own outdoor beach volley ball court
• Kyte surfing: we work closely with a kytesurfing school on lake garda and arrange packages linking a kyte course with a few days of rest and relaxation or further sporting adventure in Zermatt
